Sleep makes such a big difference in how we feel during the day, but sometimes getting good rest isn’t always easy — especially with busy schedules, kids, and the occasional “mom brain” that won’t turn off at night. Over the years, I’ve found a few simple products that have made a real difference in helping our whole family wind down and sleep better. In honor of World Sleep Day and the reminder to “Sleep Well, Live Better,” I’m sharing some of our favorite sleep essentials — from sound machines and bedtime routine helpers for the kids to a few simple upgrades that have helped improve my own sleep too.

Our Favorite Sleep Essentials for Adults & Kids

Hatch Restore

This has been a total game-changer for my sleep routine. This sound machine + sunrise alarm helps me fall asleep faster and wake up more gently. Currently on sale $25 off!

Hatch Rest (Hatch Baby)

I have a Hatch Rest for each of the kids since they were born. Love the white noise + nightlight that runs all night and a programmable green light in the morning so they know when it's time to get up. It’s now called the Hatch Baby, and they have changed the look & design to make it a bit more user-friendly to change volume, brightness, etc., and it now looks more like the updated Restore.

Hatch Go

Perfect for attaching to strollers or pack-n-plays when you're on the go! Or just keep it on your diaper bag when the baby needs to drown out some noise to fall asleep. Comes in five beautiful colors.

Coop Premier Adjustable Pillow

I've been on a JOURNEY to get better sleep - I know I'm 40 now, but it should not be so hard to find a good pillow! This is now the pillow of my dreams! The adjustable fill makes it easy to find your perfect support. Currently $10 off at Target.

ZIMASILK Silk Pillowcase

This pillowcase is a little bit of bedtime luxury. I've searched a long time for a good silk pillowcase (don't be fooled by the satin ones!) Super soft, great quality for the price, and comes in so many pretty colors.

Casaluna Solid Silk Eye Mask

I really can't stand any sort of light when I'm sleeping, especially little blue lights on devices, so a sleep mask is a must! I also take it when I travel. Silk is the only thing I use & an adjustable band is a must-have!

ZIMASILK Silk Sleep Mask

An alternative to the Casaluna sleep mask - this will be my next upgrade! Again, the adjustable band is essential and since I have a pillowcase from this brand, I already know the silk is quality.

Yoto Player

One of our favorite parts of the kids' bedtime routine. Stories, podcasts, sleep timers, and a built-in nightlight when you flip it forward. I will always sing praises for our Yoto players! Currently 10% off on Amazon (every little bit helps!)

Yoto Mini

We originally had a Yoto Mini for my son (until my daughter decided to give it a bath) - perfect for taking on-the-go. Use your phone app or cards to play stories, podcasts, radio, or white noise sounds. Does not have a built-in nightlight.

Yogasleep Nod

We have this sound machine / nightlight for travel for the kids because it doesn't required wifi!

Yogasleep Duet

A great budget-friendly alternative to the Hatch Rest. Doesn't change colors, though, so you can't use it as an ok-to-wake clock in the mornings.

Hiya Kids Bedtime Essentials

A non-habit forming nightly chewable to help kids relax before bed and wake up rejuvenated and refreshed. Supports calm, focus and brain health, and more. No melatonin or added sugar.* Get 50% off your first order!

OLLY Kids' Sleep Gummies with Melatonin

For the very RARE occasions when my kids are on the struggle bus at bedtime and just can't get themselves to sleep - they like the flavor of these Olly brand sleep gummies. We really limit if and when we need these, and have been working first to use some meditation routines and breathing techniques to try and get them to calm down and ready for sleep - but there are still nights when having these on hands is a sleep-saver (or sanity-saver for my husband and me!).

thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

This little pillow spray is an all-natural way to wind down at the end of the day. Just spritz it on your pillow before bed for a calming aromatherapy blend of lavender, chamomile, and vetiver that helps relax your mind and body. It’s 99% natural and such a simple way to create a more peaceful bedtime routine and help you drift off to sleep. 😴

Nello Supercalm Powdered Drink Mix

I keep these on hand for nights when my brain just won’t slow down — you know those “mom brain in overdrive” evenings when it’s hard to settle in for sleep. This calming powdered drink mix is designed to help support relaxation and better sleep, and I’ll mix one up when I need a little extra help unwinding. It’s not something I use every night, but it can make a big difference on the nights when I’m feeling scattered, overwhelmed, or having trouble falling asleep. 😴

Cloud Knit Modal Nightgown

I have several of these nightshirts in different colors, and they’ve become my favorite pajamas over the years. The cloud knit modal fabric is incredibly soft but still breathable, which makes them perfect for sleeping comfortably all night. Simple, cozy, and such a great affordable find from Target!

Canopy Bedside Humidifier

A humidifier is a must in our house during the dry winter months — it’s one of the only ways we can get truly comfortable, quality sleep when the air gets so dry. This humidifier is at the top of my wishlist because it’s designed with mold-inhibiting technology and dishwasher-safe parts, which makes it much easier to keep clean. It’s meant to support better sleep, healthier skin, and overall comfort, and I’d love to eventually have one in each bedroom. Bonus: it’s currently on sale for up to $60 off, which makes it a great time to grab one!

If you’re looking for simple ways to improve your sleep, sometimes the little things can make the biggest difference. Small upgrades like a supportive pillow, a relaxing bedtime routine, calming aromatherapy, or a sound machine can help signal to your body that it’s time to wind down. Whether you’re trying to fall asleep faster, wake up feeling more refreshed, or create a smoother bedtime routine for your kids, these types of sleep essentials can help support better rest for the whole family. If you’re working toward better sleep habits, I hope some of these favorite sleep products give you a few helpful ideas to try.
