About Simple Modest Mom

My name is Jen and this blog is an opportunity for me to share my journey as a youth pastor’s wife, mother of young kids, business owner and entrepreneur, and follower of Jesus. I'm thrilled to have you join me as we navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood, explore the depths of our faith, and find inspiration in the simple things that make life beautiful.

Faith & Family is at the heart of everything I do! My husband, Eric, and I met while working together in youth ministry. Our initial hesitation to date (because we were coworkers, after all!) turned into a beautiful partnership (we love being one team!). Oliver's boundless imagination and adventurous spirit infuse our lives with laughter and curiosity, while Ainsley's determination and bravery inspire us daily. Together, we strive to strengthen our marriage, nurture our children, and create a home filled with love, joy, and authenticity.

Our faith plays a significant role in shaping our family and our blog. Both Eric and I have deep personal relationships with Jesus, and we desire for our faith to permeate every aspect of our lives. Through Simple Modest Mom, you'll hopefully witness how our beliefs influence our parenting, relationships, and the choices we make for our family. We seek to create an atmosphere of genuine connection, where readers can find encouragement, share experiences, and grow alongside us.

At the beginning of 2020, I lost my job only 3 months after welcoming our son into this world. Determined to contribute to our family's financial well-being without sacrificing precious time with my children, I embarked on a journey to find remote work. This led me to establish my own business as a Virtual Assistant, which has since evolved into a fulfilling role as a Blog and Content Manager. I take immense pleasure in supporting other business owners and bloggers, helping them bring their visions to life through captivating writing, stunning graphics, and efficient organization. sim·ple:
easily understood or done; presenting no difficulty; uncomplicated in form, nature, or design; used to convey that something is very straightforward

mod·est:
a person is modest if he or she is very successful but does not call attention to this. Modest generally means "big enough but not huge" — like a modest house or a modest income; around the turn of the 17th century, modest referred to proper or decent dress and behavior especially in women.

mom:
a person's mother or one's mother. a term of endearment used to refer to a woman or girl who is admired: Obviously she has no kids, but she is such a mom; a woman in authority

With Simple Modest Mom, I want to embrace a lifestyle that is uncomplicated in nature, satisfied with the journey that the Lord has me on, and celebrates motherhood - no matter what that role looks like for some women! I strive to provide a platform where individuals can find inspiration and encouragement through my authentic and honest lifestyle while celebrating the essence of motherhood and the values it embodies. Through this blog, it is my aim to share relatable experiences and practical insights as a youth pastor's wife, mom to young kids, entrepreneur and work-from-home mom, and devoted follower of Jesus.
