Last year I discovered one of my all-time favorite mom hacks… renting clothes for my kids! After having my second baby, I was reminded of how short the lifespan is of so many of the adorable outfits that she would get - she would wear something once or twice as a newborn and then all of a sudden, it no longer fits! That’s where this incredible clothing subscription for kids comes in - you can rent outfits for your kids and swap them at any time when they outgrow them or you are just ready for new outfits!

Don't worry about buying new baby clothes every month: rent them instead! This clothing rental subscription is perfect for babies and toddlers of all sizes. Are you looking for a convenient and economical way to keep your baby stylishly dressed? This clothing rental subscription from Rent-a-Romper is the perfect solution! Get access to tons of new, designer clothes whenever you need them, with hassle-free returns when you're done. Find out how easy and affordable it is to rent quality clothes for babies and toddlers of all sizes!

Everything You Need to Know About the Rent-a-Romper Clothing Rental Subscription

Signing up and getting started with Rent-a-Romper is really easy! Once you select one of their many subscription options, you will fill out their style quiz to help them know how you prefer to dress your baby or toddler, then sit back and wait for the clothes to arrive! Once your clothing arrives, wear it like normal and send it back whenever you are ready for new styles or your child has outgrown an item in your capsule. It’s seriously that easy! Here’s how it works:

1 // Choose a Subscription Plan

Rent-a-Romper has two main membership plans - the Essentials capsule and the Premium capsule. Select your preferred subscription plan that follows your budget and needs, then get the best designer clothes for babies and toddlers without breaking the bank! Each plan allows you to rent a certain number of items each month and return them when you no longer need them, then get a new batch of outfits - you can literally swap at any time! Receive brand-new baby clothes to keep your little one looking fashionable year-round!

In addition to their main membership plans, Rent-a-Romper also offers some add-on packages - one for pajamas and one for swim! I seriously would have used that pajama rental SO much when both of my babies were newborns - that’s the one thing that was worn most often, but also needed to be washed all of the time - and then they outgrow them in just a few weeks!

2 // Fill out a style survey

After you sign up for your subscription(s), you will want to fill out the Style Quiz. This is a great way to share your preferences to help Rent-a-Romper stylists curate cute capsules just for your little one(s).

3 // Quality clothing delivered right to your door

With the Rent-a-Romper clothing rental subscription, you don't have to worry about going to the store for new clothes every month. They guarantee high-quality, stylish, and durable clothing pieces that come in a variety of sizes for your growing baby. They deliver the items directly to your doorstep, conveniently saving you time and energy. No more worrying about breaking the bank when your little one needs something new - just rent it!

4 // Ready to swap? Send it back!

You can literally swap your clothing at any time! Whether your kid has outgrown the outfits, or the seasons and styles have changed, just hop online and fill out the swap form to let them know you are ready for some new outfits. Then you can keep using and wearing the clothes until the new ones arrive! Once your swaps have arrived, just pack up the items you are ready to return and use the pre-paid shipping label that is included with your package.

There are honestly so many benefits to renting clothes for your kids that are hard to ignore! You’re saving money on adorable and quality clothing, and utilizing sustainable options for kids’ clothes that help to reduce waste. It’s like having an endless wardrobe for your baby and toddler!

Frequently Asked Questions about Renting Clothes for Your Kids

Here are some of the questions that I had when I first started renting clothes for my kids or that other people have asked me when I share about renting clothes for the baby and the toddler!

Why rent clothes for your kids?

Renting clothes for your kids is actually a really sustainable solution to having “too many clothes” for your kids - or watching them grow out of their clothes after just one or two times wearing them. Renting clothes for your kids also saves you money - you’re spending a fraction of the amount that you would if you had to buy new clothes each time they outgrew what they are wearing. You are saving time, money, and the planet when you rent clothes for your kids!

Renting clothes also gives you the option to try out new clothes for your kids at a lower cost. Not sure whether you like zippers or snaps? Torn between cotton and bamboo? Renting provides a risk-free way to try out sizes and styles from over 200 popular brands.

What’s included in your membership?

Rent-a-Romper memberships come with a “no stain penalty” guarantee, free shipping both ways, a wardrobe that grows with your baby, unlimited clothing swaps, responsible consumption of clothing, and the ability to cancel anytime.

How often will I get a new capsule of clothes?

The capsule membership puts you in the driver's seat. With the monthly fee, you get access to 7 or 15 items which you can swap out when you need to. We do not ship a monthly box like other subscriptions, because kids don't grow on a regular schedule. When they are really small, you might need to swap your items in just 2-3 weeks! And as they grow, you might want to keep the clothes a little bit longer. Once you have your capsule, you can keep the clothes as long as you need or swap them as often as you want.

What clothing sizes can you rent?

Rent-a-Romper offers sizes from Newborn all the way up to 5T! So it really does grow with you during the baby stage into the toddler stage!

What if my baby gets stains on the clothes?

Good question! This is one that I asked myself when I first started renting clothes for the kids, and Rent-a-Romper actually answered this question for me inside the capsule when it arrived! They state up front that they know kids will get messy and dirty and that it’s expected! And then they have some great basic washing instructions to help you care for these clothing pieces as best as possible. They also now have add-on options that you can include some of my favorite stain removal spray with your order so that you can easily get stains out when they happen!

But get this… if you get a stain and you can’t get it out… Rent-a-Romper does not charge you for accidents or spills! Just send the clothing back when you swap and they will try their best to remove stains or repair the clothing. If they cannot repair it, they will retire the clothing.  *On the rare occasion that over half of a capsule comes back ready to retire, we will charge you up to a one-month subscription fee.

How do I keep track of my Rent-a-Romper clothing items?

When they send you a capsule of clothing, each item of clothing has a washable barcode label on the inside that makes it easy to associate that piece of clothing with your Rent-a-Romper capsule. They also send you a print-out with photos of each item of clothing that is in your capsule, so you can remember what you have in your dresser or wardrobe.

What about special occasions?

When you submit your swap form, you can definitely mention any specific events or special occasions that you have coming up! You’re not guaranteed any specific outfit, but your stylist will definitely make sure to include a specific outfit whenever possible - just give as many details as you can about what you are looking for or need.

What brands can I expect to receive with Rent-a-Romper?

Rent-a-Romper has over 200 brands in their inventory, which allows them to curate for different styles, climates, and occasions. As a company, they are building out wholesale relationships with some incredible brands including: Gerber Childrenswear, Oliver and Rain, Babysprouts Co, Clover Baby and Kids, Colored Organics, and Peasy.

In the Just-the-Essentials and Complete Capsules, you might receive brands such as: Gerber, Colored Organics, Primary, Oliver and Rain, Carter's, Cat and Jack, and more. In the Premium Essentials and Complete Capsules you might receive organic brands such as: Clover Baby and Kids, Oliver and Rain, Peasy, Burt's Bees, L'oved Baby, Kate Quinn, and more.

What add-ons do they have?

Rent-a-Romper actually has quite a few add-ons that you can include with your regular membership. There are special packages that you can request for swimsuits or pajamas, but they also have special seasonal add-ons, like Halloween costumes or winter coats and snow gear. They also now include small add-ons that you can include in your swap like stain removal spray.

Can I add Rent-a-Romper to my baby registry?

Yes! If you have a My Registry or Babylist registry, make sure to download the browser plug-in and then you can drag and drop your favorite Gift Package or Rent-a-Romper membership into your registry. You can also add the direct links to these gifts to any registry or share them directly with your friends and family.

Does Rent-a-Romper take donations?

Yes! If your child has clothing that they have outgrown or are no longer wearing, you can request a “Clean Out Kit” from Rent-a-Romper and donate your pre-loved clothes to their community! Rent-a-Romper will accept all baby or children's clothing up to age 12. They are not able to accept hats, socks, or underwear at this time and are currently only able to accept clothing from within the U.S. If you are ready to offload your child’s clothing, fill out the closet clean-out form with your address details and they will email you a shipping label. You can read more tips in the Closet Clean Out Guide.

When you donate clothes to Rent-a-Romper and they receive your clean-out kit, they will email you credit for Rent-a-Romper that you can redeem toward a membership, a one-time rental or purchase, or share your credit with a friend. Win win!
