My daughter was sick from an allergic reaction to an antibiotic that she was taking, and that week of symptoms felt like an entire month itself and then ended with both my daughter and my husband getting a stomach bug. So like I said… it was a doozy of a month! It feels like January was a never-ending month with the end of the holiday season, the super cold weather, several snow days, and a couple of rounds of sickness in our house. We also had our SUV parked out front of our house and it got hit by a police car (crazy story!), which resulted in it being a write-off from insurance and needing to do some car shopping. But it was also my birthday month and feels like we ended the month with a lot of really fun memories as a family.

Read MoreAugust was not an overly exciting month for us - I had surgery at the end of July and was required to be off my foot for nearly 4 weeks - almost the entirety of August, stuck at home or only short trips since I couldn’t walk a lot. But the end of August, when I was able to start walking around again, we visited the Baltimore Orioles for a day game, and the kids ended the month with some sickness - not fun!
