Over the years, Easter baskets have become one of our favorite simple traditions with our kids. I love putting them together each spring—it’s such a fun way to celebrate the season and surprise them with a few thoughtful things they’ll actually use and enjoy.

That said, I’ve always wanted to be intentional about what goes inside. Instead of filling baskets with tons of candy or random items, I try to choose practical, meaningful, and fun Easter basket fillers for toddlers that fit their age and everyday routines.

If you’re looking for toddler Easter basket ideas that are cute, useful, and not overly focused on candy, I’m sharing some of our favorite go-to ideas that we come back to year after year.

I’ve rounded up some adorable Easter baskets with fun and intentional fillers for toddlers - Easter pajamas, books, devotionals, sunglasses, non-candy snacks, stuffed animals, bath toys, and more!

Easter Basket Fillers for Toddlers (Cute, Practical & Fun Ideas)

Putting together an Easter basket for a toddler is such a fun way to celebrate the season—but it can also be a little tricky to know what to include, especially if you’re trying to keep things simple and not overload on candy.

If you’re looking for toddler Easter basket ideas that are cute, practical, and age-appropriate, I’ve rounded up some of our favorite fillers that have worked so well for our family over the years. From snacks and books to toys, pajamas, and springtime essentials, these ideas are perfect for little ones and easy to customize based on what your toddler loves.

Cute Easter Baskets for Toddlers

Before filling the basket, it’s fun to start with something cute and functional that you can reuse year after year. I love choosing Easter baskets for toddlers that are soft, lightweight, and easy for little hands to carry—bonus points if they double as storage for toys or books after Easter is over!

Snacks (Low-Sugar Toddler Easter Basket Ideas)

When it comes to snacks and candy, I don’t feel like our kids need tons of sugar in their Easter baskets. I already know there will be candy in Easter eggs for the egg hunt (and let’s be honest, most of that ends up being for mom and dad anyway!), so I like to focus on non-candy toddler Easter basket fillers like Goldfish crackers, cookies, and fruit snacks.

Books & Devotionals for Easter

One thing I’ve become more intentional about each year is including a faith-based book or devotional in our kids’ Easter baskets. It’s such a simple way to point them back to the true meaning of Easter and start building those rhythms early.

For younger toddlers, board books are a great option. We’ve loved books like God Gave Us Easter, along with other sweet springtime favorites that are fun and meaningful to read together.

Bubbles (Easy Outdoor Easter Basket Ideas)

Bubbles are such a fun and easy addition to a toddler Easter basket—especially as the weather starts warming up. Around this age, kids are just beginning to really enjoy interactive outdoor play, and bubbles are always a hit.

A small bubble machine or a big refill bottle is perfect for encouraging spring and summer outdoor play right after Easter.

Pajamas (Practical Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers)

I love including at least one practical item in our Easter baskets, and a fresh pair of spring pajamas for toddlers is always a favorite. It’s something they’ll actually use right away, and it still feels fun and seasonal.

Accessories (Fun & Functional Toddler Finds)

Accessories are such an easy way to add both fun and function to a toddler Easter basket. One of my husband’s first suggestions was sunglasses, and honestly—it’s such a good one for spring and summer!

For little girls, I also love adding hair bows, clips, or headbands. These small items are adorable, practical, and perfect for everyday wear.

Activities & Toys (Non-Candy Easter Basket Fillers)

If you’re trying to keep candy to a minimum, adding a few age-appropriate toys and activities is a great way to round out the basket. I like choosing items that support my toddler’s current stage—things like bath toys, soft toys for car rides, or outdoor favorites like sidewalk chalk.

These types of non-candy Easter basket ideas keep kids engaged long after Easter morning.

Bath Time (Practical + Fun Favorites)

Bath time items are one of my favorite “practical but fun” additions to an Easter basket. Whether it’s a new toy, bubbles, or something simple like a fun washcloth, these are items kids actually use—and get excited about.

Eating & Drinking (Everyday Essentials for Toddlers)

Another practical category I always come back to is toddler cups, plates, and utensils. Things like water bottles, snack cups, or seasonal plates make great Easter basket fillers because they’re useful, cute, and something your toddler will use every day.
