The month of May felt like a nice little preview of summer… and I am SO ready for summertime!

In this post, you’ll find a few of my favorite things that I have been enjoying the most over the past month or that my family has found to be super useful! It is my hope to share with you a few items every month and pass along some recommendations or joy to other families! Hope you find something helpful here!

Wedding Guest Dress

I had been looking around online for a long time trying to find a nice dress that I could wear to my sister-in-law’s at the end of May that would be appropriate for chasing after an active toddler, as well as be flattering for another wedding in June when my husband is officiating a wedding. It took a lot of browsing, but I finally landed on this beautiful neutral tan dress that has the cutest little black teardrop dots all over it in a very subtle pattern. The dress is form-fitting under my bust with a very long zipper in the back. I love how the top is higher cut and yet somewhat loose so that it drapes nicely. It felt very flattering on, which is sometimes hard to find (and feel) after having a baby! Highly recommend! Plus… it has pockets!

Plastic Bags Dispensers

I feel like we have literally been overrun by plastic bags in our house!! I’ve been looking for some bags to hold my plastic bags for a long time now, and finally decided to get this set of 4 - and I’m so glad that I did! They are much nicer quality than I was expecting and feel extremely durable. I have one hanging on a nail on our back porch for quick and easy access to clean up after our dog each day before our son wants to play, and two hanging in a closet in our kitchen, with one available for backup. I think having so many prepped and ready to go will be great that we can easily throw one into our supplies to take on vacation or keep one in the car for when we are on the go! I highly recommend this set of dispensers for plastic bags!

Light Show Sprinkler

This sprinkler will by far be one of our most popular toys and activities this summer! We’ve had some extremely warm days in May, so this sprinkler got some great use already. We have a small backyard, so I wanted a sprinkler that would be fun for a toddler, but not too large. I was honestly a little nervous about this sprinkler since it was so cheap, but it actually works (hah!) and is easy enough to put on our hose or take off to travel. The little moving arms are lots of fun when we are in the mood for lots of water, but usually, we just turn the water on lower and have just a little bit of height for the sprinkler in our yard.

Toddler Boys’ T-Shirts

I found these adorable t-shirts for our little man at Target at a great deal! Most of the styles were only $4 (a few styles were $7), so I got a small handful of shirts that I thought would look great on our toddler this summer and fall. With the way that our toddler goes through outfits each day, you can never have too many shirts, right??

Wooden Step Stool

I knew it was time for a step stool for our bathroom so that our toddler can climb up to our pedestal sink by himself to wash his hands and brush his teeth without us holding him the entire time. This Melissa & Doug Step Stool is super simple, was easy to put together, and looks great in our bathroom.

CamelBak Eddy Kids BPA Free Water Bottle

We use this water bottle ALL of the time. When I thought we forgot it at a restaurant the other night, I was super disappointed. It is so functional and easy to keep filled with water for walks to the park or keep in the diaper bag whenever we are on the go. News flash - we DID leave it at the restaurant, but since we had a rubber band with his name on it, another family member found it and brought it to us! Hooray!

Toddler Toothbrush

Speaking of brushing teeth… we have upgraded from the silicone baby toothbrush to this FridaBaby Toddler Toothbrush. It’s still a bit of an ordeal to get our little guy to let us help him brush his teeth (usually he just wants to chew on the toothbrush), but I like that this toothbrush is designed to get all around the tooth on its own. Still a bit of a learning curve, but it’s so fun to watch our little guy figure this out!

Bliss Collections Daily Planner

I shared my Daily Planner notepad with my Instagram friends this month and EVERYONE wanted to know where I got this notepad! I love the simplicity of the design, but the detail in the different sections. It’s so great to be able to just write everything out on paper some days. I love the Bliss Collections products and have been able to highly recommend everything that I’ve gotten from them so far!

Women’s Summer Slipper

Remember when I was asking for recommendations for a summer slipper? Most people gave me silly answers like “wouldn’t that just be a flip-flop?” - which, yes, I suppose it could be, but… still working indoors with A/C, I love wearing a house shoe to keep my feet warm, but wanted a lighter fabric that wasn’t the fuzzy sherpa slippers that I love in the winter. These slippers that I found on Amazon are absolutely perfect! The way the sizing works, I ordered the 8/9 size, since I am usually a size 8, so they are a little on the large size, but I find that they are actually super easy to slip on and off with that little bit of extra room.

Mother Like No Other Teacup

This adorable teacup and saucer set was one of my Mother’s Day gifts this year and I absolutely love it! It is the perfect size for a cup of tea and the saucer is great for a cookie or two. This set will get lots of use all year round!

Wine Tumbler

I snagged this wine tumbler while we were shopping for some wine for our short little kid-free getaway vacay this past month. I was certain the Airbnb would have wine glasses but also thought it would be nice to have a tumbler for future trips when we visit campsites with my parents and be able to keep a lid on the wine tumbler and have a bit less risk of bugs landing in my drink or splashing or spilling quite so easily.

Wine Opener Tool

Another thing that we forgot to pack for our kid-free vacation and thankfully realized it when we were shopping for wine. Again, very likely there would have been an opener when we got to our vacation home, but I don’t like leaving those things to chance, so we got a small multi-tool that we will hopefully remember to pack for future trips. This wine opener tool turned out to be surprisingly amazing! My husband commented several times about how much he liked this tool - we were both VERY impressed! It even had a foil cutter, which most tools don’t include.

Wine Saver

One more item that I picked up for our vacation. I have several of these at home in the silver color and of course, didn’t think to pack them. These are essential for me when we open a bottle of wine because I really only drink one glass at a time and don’t like to waste anything. I have really loved these sealers and it allows me to keep a bottle of wine for much longer once it has been opened.

Plastic Organizing Bins for Fridge

I’m sure everyone has a moment like I did the other night where I just felt so completely overwhelmed when I was trying to put away leftovers in my fridge after dinner. I felt like everything was so disorganized and there was a jam jar in the door and jam on the first shelf and even some hiding behind other jars on the bottom of the fridge. So my husband and I cleaned out the entire fridge, wiped it down so it was nice and clean, and created zones for our fridge so we were both on the same page to know where everything belongs. This means I also needed a few more plastic bins to help me keep some items in my fridge organized. I love these small bins for my lemon and lime juice bottles and herbs and got a new one for my cream cheese and sour cream and other small dairy containers. I also use a medium-sized bin for all of our cheeses (bags of shredded cheese, sliced deli cheese, etc.) - we love cheese.
