It’s time for my favorite finds! Each month, I round up a mix of must-haves, little luxuries, and game-changing goodies I have been loving for myself, my kids, and our home. Whether it’s a cozy sweatshirt, a genius mom hack, or the perfect seasonal décor, these are the things that made my month a little brighter (and maybe more fun or functional, too!).

So, grab a cup of coffee or some tea, get comfy, and let’s dive into this month’s favorites!

Favorite Finds from May 2025

Bloom Towels

I pulled out my new Bloom Towels for Memorial Day and plan to use them all summer long - they are seriously my FAVORITE kitchen towels! They’re HUGE, double-sided, and super absorbent, plus the cute red, white & blue patterns are perfect for the 4th of July. If you’ve been thinking about trying them, use my code SIMPLEMODESTMOM to get 15% off your order!

Mini Folding Desk

One of my biggest pain points as a work-from-home mom is trying to squeeze in work time while hanging out with my kids, and our small city house definitely wasn’t designed with a main-level office in mind. I was constantly juggling my laptop on the dining table (which is not ideal when the kids want to do crafts or I actually need to, you know, serve dinner). But then I had a lightbulb moment and realized there was a tiny little space between our hutch and the lamp by the TV. After lots of searching, I found this adorable mini folding desk on Amazon, and it fits perfectly! I got the gold and white faux marble version (so pretty!), but it comes in 6 other color options too. It’s under $70 and folds down easily if I need to reclaim the space. Total game changer!

Owala Freesip Water Bottle

I love my Owala water bottle - it's been my go-to lately! The FreeSip design is seriously genius (you can sip or chug—whatever mood you're in 😅), and this neutral colorway from the Hearth & Hand collab at Target is just so pretty and calming. If you're more of a bright colors kind of girl, don’t worry - I’ll link a bunch of fun options over on Amazon too. Stay hydrated, friends! 💧

Nature Walk Notepads

This little nature walk notepad has been such a fun addition to our evening walks lately! I grabbed a few of these imaginative play notepads for the kids (soda & cookie shop, restaurant order, doctor visit), and this one has definitely been a favorite. It has 40 pages with about 10 different search-and-find style designs that make even a simple walk feel like an adventure. My kids have LOVED it!

Pro Tip: grab a pack of mini clipboards so they have something sturdy to write on during your walks—makes a big difference!

Oversized Sweatshirt

This oversized sweatshirt is another cozy favorite of mine! It’s surprisingly thick and such good quality for the price. I have it in the “coffee grey” color, but it comes in SO many other color options too. It’s perfectly oversized—comfy and roomy without feeling like I’m drowning in it. I’m wearing a size large and love how it fits!

Tummy-Control Leggings

These are hands-down the BEST leggings I’ve found! They’ve got amazing tummy control without being too tight or overly compressive. I love that they have pockets on both sides and a little hidden pocket in the back of the waistband. And the best part? They don’t roll down—my biggest pet peeve with other leggings! I’m wearing a size large and have two pairs in black and one in hot pink because they’re just that good.

Bento Lunch Boxes

These bento lunch boxes have been such a win for us lately! I love the size—perfect for packing my 5-year-old’s lunch or snacks when we’re headed out for a car trip or park day. They come in a set of 4 and there are a couple other color options too (one more bold and one that’s more clear). Super handy for on-the-go meals!

Snack Spinner

Since my 3-year-old tends to spill those bento boxes in the car, this snack spinner has been our go-to for her—and honestly, it’s way more fun for her anyway! You just fill it up with a variety of snacks, and your kiddo pushes the center button to spin and stop at a snack of their choice using the little flip door. It’s been a game changer for keeping messes to a minimum during car rides!

Rubber Band Bracelet Kit

Before preschool ended, my son came home proudly wearing a rubber band bracelet that a friend gave to him—and then told me he wanted to make one for every friend at preschool. How do you say no to that?! 😂 I found a refill kit of rubber bands that came with some small tools (way more affordable than the big kits online), and we made our own little bracelet kits for both kids. It’s been such a fun, simple craft—and I love that it was his idea!

Organizer Boxes

I grabbed this set of 4 small organizer boxes to wrangle all the rubber bands and bracelet-making tools, and they worked perfectly! I love that the dividers are removable—so I could make room in one box for the little tools and clips, and fill the rest with the 26 colors of bands (which fit just right across two boxes). I ended up using all four boxes to create two complete bracelet kits—one for each kid!

Tick-Repellent Stickers

I’ve been hearing that ticks are extra bad in our area this year, so with two little kids and a dog, I’m officially on high alert. I grabbed these tick repellent stickers by NATPAT—same brand as the mosquito stickers we’ve loved in past summers—and they’re such a simple way to add a little extra peace of mind before heading outside. I picked up the smaller sets from Target, but Amazon has bigger packs too (linking both!)

And if you’re also on the lookout, I’ll share a full roundup of our favorite tick-repellent products—including a great DEET-free spray that works for the whole fam!

Sunday Flower Food

I did a lot of planting this month—filling up the backyard garden beds along the fence and adding a bunch more shade-loving flowers and bushes to the front yard (fingers crossed I can keep them alive and help them thrive!). We’ve had amazing results with Sunday’s lawn care and grass seed in the backyard, so I decided to try their Flower & Rose plant food too. Hoping it gives my front bed a little boost—especially my slow-growing hostas. If you’re working on your yard or garden this season, this is such an easy add-on to your routine!
