Celebrating 6 years!

Eric and I celebrated our 6-year anniversary this past weekend - Friday was our actual wedding anniversary, so we went out for dinner using a gift card that we had lying around and really enjoyed a full dinner service where we could eat our food while it was warm and chat about things other than monster trucks and dinosaurs. :) Then on Saturday, Eric had a whole day planned for us to adventure around Philly - with a rooftop brunch at a restaurant called Attico and a visit to the Rodin Museum, as well as just wandering around the city for a bit. It was such a joy to be able to spend time just as “Jen and Eric” again and not necessarily as “mom and dad” and be able to reconnect for a full day reflecting on areas for growth, goals and hopes for the future, and other various conversations.

Ainsley is 6 months old!

Our Ainsley girl is 6 months old now! She had a well-visit this past week and while her weight and head are measuring very average in the 50th percentile, her height is at the 96th percentile! We also found out that her gums are swollen and will likely be cutting teeth any day now, which explains some of the additional fussiness! She is also saying “mama” a lot - even if she doesn’t know what she is saying, it’s so fun to see how active and chatty she is becoming. She loves sitting/standing in her activity center for longer periods now and her favorite thing is watching her brother run around the couch or living room - he can make her laugh like no one else can!

Love Lingual Conversation Cards

I actually bought these conversation cards last year, but took them along on our anniversary day trip to Philly - they were great to use for some intentional conversations in the car during our trip and helped us to have some great conversations about our future, hopes and goals, things we appreciate about each other, etc. I highly recommend this deck of cards for any couples who are looking for an easy way to have more intentional conversations.

Wink Naturals Baby Teething Gel

I bought some of this natural teething gel recently and it’s been super helpful with Ainsley’s swollen gums. The pediatrician told us at her well-visit this past week that she is likely going to show some teeth any day or week now, so we will get a lot of use out of this teething gel!

The Adventure Challenge: Couples Edition

I got this scratch-off adventure challenge book for Eric for our anniversary - hopefully it is a fun way for us to stay connected and experience new things together and actually make some intentional time for date nights (or date days or moments) over this next year. This book is set up so that you don’t know what the adventure is until you scratch it off, but it does give you clues to know if you will need a babysitter, or if it costs any money, or what type of day it needs to be for that adventure. I can’t wait to see what types of adventures we end up with!

Quilted Button Pullover

Eric bought me this quilted pullover for our anniversary - it’s something that has been on my list for a while and it was perfect to wear on our rainy and chilly day in Philly! I have a medium and it fits as expected - not too tight, but I’m also not swimming in it. It’s currently $5 off + another 8% when you click the coupon button.
