Hello friends! I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite things that I have been enjoying the most over the past month or that my family has found to be super useful! It is my hope to share with you a few items every month and pass along some recommendations or joy to other families! This month has been all about staying cozy during some extremely cold days and bringing some sanity to this crazy little home in the middle of winter during a pandemic. Hope you find something helpful here!

My Favorite Things for February 2021

Bluetooth Electric Blanket

February has been such an extremely cold month! Not just for us here in Pennsylvania, but all across the country. (We’re still praying for our friends and family in Texas!) We live in a drafty old house in the city - when we moved in, our landlords mentioned that they replaced most of the windows, but not the ones in the attic or our main bedroom, due to the unique custom shapes of the windows. Not a huge deal, but we definitely notice the draft during really cold months! So my husband and I finally decided to splurge on an electric heated blanket for our bed. (Seriously one of the best decisions we have ever made!)

Women’s Mocassin Slippers

I’m pretty sure I’ve been wearing these slippers every day since I got them around my birthday! I love that they have a rubber sole for quick trips to my front porch to pick up my groceries or packages or to the back porch to call in my dog when she’s being stubborn and doesn’t want to come back inside. When my sister said she wanted a pair of slippers with a rubber sole for her birthday, I immediately sent her a link to these LL Bean slippers and had her pick out her favorite color!

True Grit Sherpa Pullover

I still get compliments on this sherpa pullover all of the time. I’m so glad that I picked this up a few winters ago and am considering grabbing another one the next time they go on sale. When I bought my pullover, I bought the original one, which is only available in men’s sizing and doesn’t have any pockets. While it’s not a deal-breaker, there are many days that I find myself wishing that I had pockets to slip my hands into! I’m definitely going to grab the women’s version (with pockets!) next time. This is seriously one of the warmest items in my closet and surprisingly isn’t too thick or bulky. I don’t know how they did it, but it’s amazing.

Yeti Coffee Mug

This is another item that I seriously use almost every day. Especially when I am working up in my office. I hate when my coffee gets cold before I can drink much of it and my office is in the attic, which is two floors away from our kitchen and microwave - and that’s just a lot of walking when I’m in the middle of work. I actually bought a new lid with slide-lock for this coffee mug so that I could keep my coffee hot for even longer.

Meal Planning Notepad

I picked up this beautiful simplistic meal planning notepad to keep on my fridge earlier in the month - and I love it! I really love that it starts the week on a Monday and has a full space for both of the weekend days (some planners split the Saturday and Sunday and make them smaller - which I don’t find helpful at all!). This notepad also has lots of space for a shopping list all along the right side of the pad and it’s even perforated for easy tear-off if you need to take it with you when you do your grocery shopping! I like to still write down the ingredients that I know I need to shop for, but I prefer to keep my grocery list on my phone for quick and easy access.

Instacart

I LOVE INSTACART. There have been so many days where I realize that I need some last-minute groceries, but don’t have the time or energy to get myself and my son out the door to do some shopping. Instacart to the rescue! It’s like having a personal shopper in my back pocket. It’s not the most cost-effective for large grocery runs, but really suits my needs for those smaller last-minute grocery needs. Any time that the shopper can’t find an item on my list, they send me a quick text and I can reply with a replacement item or ask them to skip it. It’s so great!

If you have ever considered trying out Instacart and having someone else grab your groceries for you and drop them off on your front porch - you can use my link to get $10 off your first order.

2-Step Folding Slide

This plastic folding slide currently lives up in our attic movie room, which also happens to be my home office. We love having a second living space on some of these really cold days when it doesn’t make sense to leave the house, but our toddler needs a new environment. Now that our little man is walking around on his own, he has also worked up some bravery to climb up this slide and go down all by himself! This slide is always a big hit when the cousins or neighbor friends come over to play.

Play Tunnel

This play tunnel is another item that we have up in our attic that is always a huge hit with the toddlers when they come over. There are ALWAYS giggles when our son goes through this tunnel. We were given a play tunnel when we first found out we were having a baby from a sweet friend of ours who said that her kids always had so much fun with this item when they were little, and so far the same has been true with our son! One of the best parts about this play tunnel is that it collapses down into a smaller size for storage. This play tunnel has brought so much joy to our home on these cold winter days when we aren’t able to leave the house as often.

What have been some of your favorite things around your house this past month? Do you have any similar items like the ones that I shared?
